Since I first discovered mountain biking at the age of 15, riding has become not only a part of my life, but a way of life. Growing up in William Lake, BC I was introduced to the buttery smooth flow of interior riding by the Red Shreds Crew. My original roots began in cross-country racing, but with a love for steeps, airs, and high speed descents my riding focus has shifted primarily to concentrating on downhill and freeriding. At the age of 24, I am excited to be training for my third season as a pro-elite downhill racer. For 2008 I will be pursuing the Canada Cup series, Sea Otter, Crankworx, and a select few stops on the World Cup and NORBA series. I also will be traveling and riding in New Zealand, coaching for Whistler, and assisting Endless Biking with coaching the EB Chickas women's downhill race team. I am also a member of the Canadian Esteem Team and will be traveling throughout 2007-2008 doing motivational speaking for schools (see article).
Being actively involved in the mountain bike community through coaching, speaking, leading club rides, racing and volunteering helps me to carry the magic of mountain biking forward. Whether riding at Whistler, at races and events throughout North America and Europe, playing on the local dirt jumps or socializing in downtown Vancouver, it is my goal to be an ambassador for our sport and share my passion for riding. When I am not on a bike (although it rarely happens), you can find me rock climbing, snowboarding, hiking, surfing, learning to sail, or relaxing with my friends and family. I'm also found working on community sustainability projects and youth engagement initiatives.
